Quality. From Farm to Cup.

To Coda, offering quality coffee is an evolving process. It is paramount that we never become complacent with the quality of our coffee. Creating and maintaining this standard of quality is a continual learning process. This involves all phases of coffee production from farm to cup.

Coda Coffee has and continues to reinvent the standard of quality for specialty coffee. You can rest assure that when you enjoy a cup of our coffee today or 20 years from now, it will blow your mind!

  • THE CUP
This is next door to our cupping lab in La Plata, Colombia. The
curious young child is watching us and studying for school while we cup about 20 different coffees to try and demonstrate what Americans look for and will pay more for in their coffees.
It Begins at Ground Level. Literally.

It begins at the farm where Coda travels to origin. With the help of Atlas Coffee Importers, we work hand in hand to build a relationship with the farmers and create accountability for the coffee grown. By working face to face with coffee growers, a synergy is created, and high expectations are met.

Quality Assurance Program

Once the coffee arrives here in Colorado, numerous taste tests are performed to ensure nothing has changed during transit. Testing at this stage is crucial. Problems with the coffee can be obvious, or nearly impossible to detect. That is why continual education is so valuable. Our Roasters are active Roasters Guild Members, attending the annual retreat where invaluable knowledge about coffee roasting and tasting is gained. Coda is also a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). Several of our employees attend the annual conference to further their education on all aspects of coffee, from directly sourcing green coffee, to better drink preparation.

Barista Training

Once the coffee is roasted and delivered, the final piece of quality is put into place. Our cafe training is the finest, and continues to lead the industry. For the past two decades, we have been hired by the international trade show organization, CoffeeFest, to teach the Hands on Barista Training class. In addition to teaching these techniques, we continue our own education by taking new classes each year, and learning from our peers. Judging in regional barista competitions, traveling to Europe to explore alternative retail environments, and applying these alternative ideas through willing customers are more examples of how we further our education and coffee exploration.
