Socially Responsible

At the farm level we ensure sustainability through directly sourced coffees, Fair Trade Certifications, giving back to the community. All coffees purchased by Coda fall under one of these categories. We directly source coffees to ensure quality intact. In return the farmers receive much more money for their harvest. This extra money also contributes to better bank loans to purchase equipment and land, builds communities, and overall creates a much better life style. All coffee that is purchased under the name Fair Trade is audited by Transfair USA. Transfair goes to great lengths ensuring the farmers receive healthcare, education, infrastructure, and money towards womens initiatives. If we cannot visit the farm or certify it Fair Trade, at the minimum we donate money toward Healthcare and education in the community.

One social responsibility that often goes unnoticed is the responsibility towards our vendors. Coda believes in fair, competitive, and respectful relationships with our vendors.

Finally and most importantly, our social responsibility benefits our customers. First we take on the price burden of social responsibility. Our prices are very competitive. If we charge too much for socially responsible practices, we will not sell as much socially responsible coffee. That hurts all parties involved. It is important that our customers receive a fair price for their coffee.
